Our History

TLN, The Logo Network was founded in 1999 by Scott Johnson. As an industry veteran himself, Scott created proprietary virtual spec sample software for one of his customers – Nestle USA. In 1996 Nestle required a single online store of 100 pre-approved and safety tested promotional items that any of their 200+ Brand groups could order directly from. Building a company store was easy; taking it to the next level whereby 200+ Brand managers could view the merchandise with only their Brand Logo placed on the 100 products was a bit trickier. Thus the first virtual sample store was created for promotional products. From this rustic beginning, TLN has revised our virtual SpecSample™ software 4x and have expanded the original 100 products to 400,000+ along with the expansion of 1 store to over 3,000 stores today.


TLN Official Timeline:

1999: The Logo Network commenced operations in the spring of 1999 to address the concerns of promotional products professionals regarding the lack of industry technology at an affordable price for all.

2000: Our first software release was ClickImprint.com, an extremely fast and accurate logo application service at under $100 per year. Over 3,000 websites incorporated ClickImprint in their websites within our first year of release.

2001: The Logo Network was awarded the online management for Sir Speedy, PIP and Press-a-Print International websites.

2002: iCarrots.com, our second release provided the first online service for searching and purchasing premium Name Brands. Over 7,000 gift selections available from over 200 famous international Name Brands.

2003: The introduction of LogoStudio.com our online Design Center for Suppliers. Distributors could visit a Supplier's website and create a Sales Presentation for their customer.

2004: Expansion of LogoStudio.com to an online marketplace for Distributors to log in and create Sales Presentations for their customers. Distributors could now include multiple Supplier products within their Sales Presentation to a customer.

2005: The introduction of MyDistributorWebsite.com. Advanced Distributor website service with exclusive features typically found only on the most expensive custom websites.

2006: MySupplierWebsite.com was added so that Suppliers could afford sophisticated Logo emPowered Websites at nominal costs.

2007: DS3, our latest Virtual Sample Technology is launched along with www.SpecSample.com with over 100,000 products ready for customization. TLN acquires the industry's exclusive EQP service and launches www.EQPClub.com

2008: TLN expands into Europe with exclusive marketing License to eMerch.com

Our Mission:

To foster a comprehensive network of services within the promotional product industry built upon the core premise of Client Recognition via electronic marketing. To develop software that embraces virtual SpecSample™ technology thruought the entire product distribution channel; from suppliers production thru distributor marketing to end users. Our premise is that by providing “See Before You Buy” principles to marketing materials we fulfill the missing requirement of personalized attention that online marketing precludes.

Our Team:

Scott Johnson/TLN Founder:
Entered the promotional products industry in 1975 as a employee for a Supplier. In 1980 upon college graduation Scott began working for Shell Oil company in their Marketing division. By 1988 rose to the position of Retail Sales Manager and buyer of promotional products. 1989, purchased Premium Incentives, Inc and became a manufacturer’s rep in the Special Markets field. 1989 opened (MSI) Marketing Services International, a $3 million promotional agency for Nestle USA. 1999 closed MSI and launched TLN.

Robert Patrick/PhD Computing:
As the founder, and CEO of one of Southern California's premier web development companies, PhD Computing, Robert's expertise in adopting new strategies and new technologies has played a significant role in the development of the break-thru technology behind The Logo Network. After founding PhD at the age of 18, Robert's leadership landed him at the front of many of the industry's web trends. Working with some of Southern California's leading franchising, ad specialties and ecommerce companies, his team developed functionality that has now become an industry standard. He contributed new technologies to the open source movement and the Linux environment, both at the early stages of their development. Robert's natural talents and constant interest in learning have contributed to the advancement of the web development industry, and his forward thinking has helped The Logo Network become one of the premier service providers in the promotional products industry.

Mikhail Shundrovskiy/SoftAddicts.com IT Programming:
After selling his publishing company in Ukraine in 1992 moved to the United States. Has a financial/security (Barnett Bank) and an IT (Kharkov Medical Equipment College – IT major) background. Has a legal degree from Keiser College. Since 1996 launched numerous web/software development businesses. In 2000 founded Softaddicts.com.

Peter Prenner/e-Merch.com:
Entered the promotional products industry in 1983 as a promotional products Distributor, in 5 years became one of Europe’s market leaders. During the next years Peter acquired 3 additional promotional distributorships and established a Holding Company in order to consolidate expenses for the subsidaries. 1999 Peter sold his companies with more then 118 staff and $46 million revenue to Cooperate X-Press World market leader in Office products. Taking a 1 year break to learn to play golf, and then returned to the industry as a service provider. After 5 years the leading online service provider for the promotional industry in Europe, offering all tools for the promotional industry – search engine, web shop, flip catalogues, graphic design, video production.

Vladimir Jonas/Bulitrade Data Processing:
Bulitrade s.r.o. was established in 2003 as a company working in the field of statistical data processing, in order to fill the gap in the market for data processing services. Vlado is Managaing Director and oversees the production database for both Europe and North America.

Nils Lindstrom/ Graphic Designer:
Graduated from Pasadena’s Art Center College of Design 1980. He began his own graphic design studio Lindstrom Design in Monrovia, CA. In 1987 he became a part-time faculty member at the Art Center. By 1996 Graphic design began its marriage with interface design and the internet and his studio made the transition. In 2007 he formed a partnership with “Phd Studios” specializing in corporate branding and website design.

Nolan Plummer:
Graduated from California Polytechnic University in 1993 and joined Premium Incentives, Inc in 1995 under their promotional Distributorship, Marketing Services International. Worked on-site at Nestle USA corporate from 1996-1999. Re-located to The Logo Network in 1999 and is our current Manager of Distributor Services.

Marie Hidalgo:
Joined Premium Incentives, Inc in 1977 and rose to her current position of General Manager by 1992.

Wayne Gongaware:
Joined The Logo Network in 1999 in a database entry position and has risen to the position of Manager, Supplier Services by 2007.
